Around a decade or two back, travel used to be quite expensive. Of course, it is still somewhat an expensive activity. But things have improved greatly. All aspects of travel are now manageable in less money. Today we take a look at some revolutionary changes and ideas that have made travel possible in a restricted budget.

The Introduction of Frequent Flyer Miles

We can all agree that air fare is the biggest expense of a travel plan. Good thing that with the introduction of frequent flyer programs, you can get cheap airline tickets online. The use of air miles are a big blessing for travelers with a limited budget. They are one of the most effective ways to bag discounts on air tickets.

The Development of Internet and Technology

With advancements in every field, things were bound to progress in the travel industry as well. Internet has not only developed real fast but has spread all across too. Now there are countless websites related to travel that make everything super convenient. Websites like Cheapoair, skyscanner and google flights help you get cheap airline tickets online. And it does not end here. The excellent discounted deals on hotels, rental cars and airline tickets are now just a click away.

Revolutionary Things That Have Made Travel Possible In Less Money

The Widespread Use of Hostels

It is quite obvious that after airline tickets, the next big expense is accommodation. Hotels are a bit pricey whereas hostels are way cheaper in comparison. A real traveler just needs a roof on the head and a comfy bed for sleep at night. The hostels provide just that at a good price. Good news is that hostels are now widespread and are especially popular in Europe where hotels are generally more expensive.

The Street Food

Dining at fancy restaurants for every meal of the day can be quite burdening on the pocket. To eat cheap, you have to opt for street food to fulfill those hunger pangs. And no, this is not a compromise because street food is pretty amazing. In fact, some countries like Thailand are extremely popular for their street food.

Revolutionary Things That Have Made Travel Possible In Less Money

The Concept of Travel Blogging

Contrary to popular belief, blogging can earn you a decent income. And the best part? You can do it while you travel. Earning money while on travel trips is a great way to fund your everyday needs and other adventures.

Being a Language Teacher

Like mentioned above, earning while traveling is a great fuel for further activities. Being a language teacher is one of the best jobs you can do while abroad. You could be an English teacher as they are most valued in countries where English is not the first language.

Are you planning your trip to France? With a little care and a planning, you will enjoy your trip more. By reading this article, it will help you plan a fantastic vacation in France.

France

Learn About the French Language

It is very important to learn about the French language when considering a visit in France. It is true that learning another language is hard, but it will help you communicate with someone there. Indeed, most of French people have a very limited knowledge of English, so you don’t have to wait for them to speak your language. And they don’t really like speaking English even if they can. But it doesn’t really mean you should learn much, it means you need to learn the essentials.

Use a Map If You Don’t Want To Get Lost

Take a serious look at the country map. You should bring basic maps of the big cities in France. A detailed map will help you get to your destination easily. You can also consider using a mapping app for Android and other phones. You will see that using maps will save you endless time. On top of that, there is so much to see and do that it can be overwhelming to plan a visit by bringing a map to this country.

Getting Around France

Perhaps you are wondering how to get around this country. Travelling by train is the safest way to travel in France. Why? Because trains run until very late, and especially, they are manned 24 hours a day with security guards. Therefore, you can ensure your personal safety even though you are travelling at night-time. Also, you will find cheap train tickets there that will help you make big savings.

But beyond that, travelling by bus is also a great value. Buses will take you everywhere in France with the best value. Moreover, buses allow you to see and enjoy the mesmerizing spots in the country.

On the other hand, if you don’t want to ride public transportation, your best bet is to drive a car, particularly if there are some places that are hard to reach. Besides, you will uncover the beautiful parts of France much easier with a car. Don’t stick to taking taxis that you put yourself at risk as they are expensive.

transportation

If you want to take a side trip, you can rent a car like a Rolls Royce in France at gpluxurycarhire.com. Taking a hired car in this country is relatively inexpensive. Don’t just forget, if you hire a car there, don’t leave valuables in your rental car to avoid a problem with petty theft.

Learn More About the French Culture and Customs

Before paying a visit to France, you should care about the French cultural origins and their customs. When travelling to a country, it is important to be prepared for cultural differences and customs. As a case in point, when you enter a restaurant, store, or shop, greetings are essential. The handshake is the typical French people greeting. Say ‘Bonjour’ or ‘Bonsoir’ (good morning or good afternoon or good evening). Also, you shouldn’t forget to say ‘Merci’ (thank you) after making a purchase.

bonjour-bonsoir-bowl-bol-79307

What else? Don’t bother a stranger on the street to ask for directions or restaurant recommendations without apologizing at first. Avoid high-pressure tactics when interacting with someone. In the event you eat something in a restaurant, you should finish everything on your plate.

Do not speak loudly in public to avoid bothering people around you and to respect them. French people don’t talk so loudly, so respect their local culture if you want to go on a journey in France.

Food Tips and Places to Eat

It should come as no surprise that France is a country full of restaurants. There are many great restaurants at much more reasonable prices you can find. You shouldn’t go for the easy option of an international chain hotel as it can be very expensive for you. However, French people tend to eat only at meal times, so don’t be surprised if most restaurants will be close out of French mealtime.

Food

How about tipping in France? Tipping is not required for fast food restaurants. In the event you are in self service restaurants, then tipping is not expected. You can just leave a Euro coin or even two as a tip to express thanks for wonderful service.

Apart from that, there are a number of supermarkets and grocery stores in France where you can shop for food. You can also buy food from open street markets of various kinds.

Enjoy your trip!

I have yet to meet someone who does not enjoy traveling. Everyone enjoys exploring the different cuisines, landscapes and cultures around the globe. The only barrier is money. Not everyone can travel easily. But never give up on something that you love. If you enjoy traveling, don’t back out just because you are not loaded with cash. Good news is that the world is very vast and the choices are endless.

7 Cheapest Holiday Destinations Around The World

If you are a hardworking, salaried person like myself, worry not. You too have plenty of choices for vacationing. Granted European countries like Norway are too expensive but who says the rest of the world is not beautiful? It is and you have every right to see the beauty that it offers. Here I have compiled a list of the 7 cheapest destinations around the world.

1. Thailand

Thailand seems to be the top choice for budget travelers. It is beautiful, vibrant and most importantly affordable. The beaches of Thailand and the exotic street food is a hit among travelers.

2. Vietnam

Boasting British architecture, gorgeous tea plantations and a rich history, Vietnam is the jewel of Asia. In fact, some would go as far as calling it the most popular destination in the region. The air ticket to Vietnam is pretty much the only major expense. But if you maintain a frequent flyer account online, you can bring down the cost considerably.

3. Cambodia

Cambodia is insanely cheap, especially if you are someone who earns in dollars. And you are not really compromising if you choose it as your next holiday destination because it truly is a unique place. The country’s highlights are its cuisine and culture.

4. India

Again if you are someone who earns in dollars, you will find India quite affordable. Since India is so big, you have the option to experience contrasting landscapes, cultures and cuisines as you go around exploring it. Whether it is the beaches in Goa, the tea plantations in Darjeeling, the Mughal architectural sites in Delhi or the temples in Varanasi, India is a wonderful country to experience and explore.

5. Bulgaria

Bulgaria is still at the stage where it is trying to boast its tourism industry. So enjoy visiting it while this stage lasts because once travelers realize how fun and beautiful the country is, the cost of vacationing there will definitely rise.

6. Sri Lanka

The beaches and tea plantations as well as temples in Sri Lanka are an absolute delight to explore. The Island is home to some of the friendliest people on earth so tourists enjoy every minute they spend there. If you have a frequent flyer account online, you can redeem the accumulated miles to further bring down the cost of holidaying in Sri Lanka.

7. Greece

Due to the economic crisis in Greece, the cost of holidaying there has become quite low. The Greek islands are still a bit expensive though. But the rest of the country has become ideal for budget travelers.

Are you intending to visit the Grand Canyon? Then you are going to want to attempt to add an action or two to your list of things to do. Excursions range from chopper trips to 1-day Grand Canyon rafting tours and all are assured for making your stay at the National Recreation area an unforgettable one.

White water Grand Canyon rafting tours are provided on many major waterways in the nation. Visits are available in many different measures, different from a mid-day to a two week travel. White water Grand Canyon rafting tours designed for family members as well as trips that meet the needs of knowledgeable rafters are available almost anywhere. While much tubing is done in the South west, it is by no means the only place for a tubing experience. Northern Carolina, Modifies name, Florida, and many other declare have great waterways for stream rafting.

Grand Canyon Rafting Tours Everyone Can Enjoy

Most Well-known Park

The Grand Gorge is the second-most frequented national park in the U.S. Each year, nearly 5 thousand people come have fun with its amazing elegance. Most of these tourists come during summer months, and many appear from such beginning factors like Las Vegas, Arizona, and Flagstaff, AZ.

Helicopter tours are a visitor preferred. Flight passes leave out Las Vegas and Tusayan, AZ, the entrance to the Southern Rim. Las Vegas choppers only go to the Western Rim. That’s because the Southern Rim is too far for them to fly immediate. Tusayan choppers only do the Southern Rim and are not able to fly below the rim.

On the subject of getting tours, such tours are only out of Las Vegas. The most famous allows you to fly to the platform for a have eat outside. This particular journey can be prolonged to consist of a ship drive down the Denver River. There’s also a vacation that areas on the top of the rim and comes with passes to the Grand Gorge Skywalk.

Rafting Trips

The Grand Canyon rafting tours that I suggest are 1-day and have no stream rapids. These tours are also known as “smooth-water rafting” and “float tours.” I like these trips because they are cost-effective and can be done by children as young as 4 years of age. They’re also ideal for effective elderly people and categories.

The Southern Rim has two such Grand Canyon rafting tours. The standard one is bus/raft. It leaves from Tusayan and goes to the bottom of Glen Gorge Dam where all 19-passenger pontoon boat rafts are docked. There you’ll begin on a 15-mile stream rafting experience such as amazing Horseshoe Fold.

The luxurious edition of the 1-day drift journey begins with a plane drive from Tusayan to Page. Then you hop a Vehicle and do a 4×4 journey of Antelope Gorge (a/k/a port canyons). Then you go to the Dam, panel a number and set course down the Denver River to ancient Lee’s Boat.

There are number of outstanding charter bus and tours that go from Las Vegas to the Western Rim and the Southern Rim of the Nationwide Recreation area. The most famous one is the Southern Rim journey. It continues a full day and contains up to 2.5 hours inside the Recreation area. Free resort taxi and lunchtime are involved.

Bus Tours

West Rim charter bus and tours are a similarly outstanding value and come with many side trips. Travelers are totally connected on the program such as access to the Skywalk. Then there’s the one along with a chopper drive to the platform with a ship drive down the Denver. To my mind, there’s something for everyone when it comes to bus trips form Las Vegas.

Lastly, ensure that you purchase your journey on the Internet on a safe and protected website. I suggest the Web because that’s where the best journey offers are to be had. I understand how interesting it is to get an outstanding price, but always remember to complete your deal online — it’s the only assured way to protected in special Web-only costs.

As complicated as frequent flyer programs may seem to you, don’t be intimidated by them. Sure the policies and workings seem complicated at first, but once you understand the basic dynamics, everything becomes pretty straight forward. The single most asked question regarding a frequent flyer program is ‘How can I earn airline miles?

Most Effective Ways To Earn Airline Miles

Well, there are several ways to do this. In this article, I outline the most effective of these ways.

1. Sign Up For A Credit Card

Certain credit cards are in alliance with frequent flyer programs. This means that signing up for such a credit card will earn you bonus miles. Almost every top airline’s frequent flyer program has linked itself to credit cards. In some cases, you even earn airline miles on transactions made using the credit card. You can also earn miles through certain debit cards.

2. Eat And Earn

No, the caption is not misleading at all. You can literally eat and earn airline miles. Most frequent flyer programs have a dining program as well. Several restaurants are a part of this dining program. On every bill amount of a partner restaurant, you will get miles in return. This is by far one of the easiest and most interesting ways to earn miles.

3. Shop and Earn

Yes, you guessed it right. Online shopping portals and certain brands associated with your airline’s frequent flyer program are a great tool for earning airline miles. Popular and established frequent flyer programs have partnered with quite big names like Target and Barnes & Noble. You have nothing to lose in this scenario. You buy something you need and voila, you get miles in return.

4. Fill Out An Online Survey

Be on the lookout for online surveys posted by airlines and travel related sites. Only filling out the survey can earn miles for you. You earn miles by spending just a little bit of your time. Who said earning miles was difficult?

5. Buy An Air Ticket

If you are part of a frequent flyer program, you will earn miles whenever you purchase an air ticket. The number of miles you earn will depend either on the distance of the flight or the cost of the ticket. Either way, you gain advantage. Even though this method requires you to spend money in order to get miles, it is still one of the most common ways miles are earned these days.

6. Buy Miles

Buying may not be the same as earning for some but for me, there is no difference. If you are falling short on airline miles to get a certain amount of discount, then you can always purchase them online. In fact, this is the most viable option for those who don’t travel frequently.

7. Rent A Car

Many Car Rental companies are in alliance with airlines. You can earn miles if you rent a car from one of these companies. It is as easy and simple as it sounds.

Santorini

Very close to Corfu, the second largest among the iconic islands. Paxos is small, less-known and pleasant. Undoubtedly, Paxos is an oasis of tranquillity for those lovers looking for rekindling the flame. On Paxos, You will find beautiful beaches and lovely restaurants serving fresh fish and seafood. The best time to enjoy the magic atmosphere is the afternoon when you can sit at a table in a tavern to drink ouzo while admiring the sunset.

Paxos

Mykonos is the best choice for those who wants to party. The festive atmosphere and the desire for the fun take over anyone who has landed on this island. Luckily, the massive tourism hasn’t destroyed the beauty of the landscapes. Mykonos features picturesque houses and alleys of Cycladic architecture overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Tilos is home to a mountainous and challenging terrain in which to venture on excursions as well as a rich flora and fauna. In the small and remote Tilos, you will be able to find face to face with animals that will make you believe to be to other latitudes like exotic birds and pygmy elephants. The great beaches are stone and hard to reach, but when you arrive, you will risk being the only visitors, even on a very August 15th. And at that moment you will be surrounded by peace and nature.

Tilos, Greece

5. Ikaria

Located in the Aegean Sea, about 20 km from Samos, it takes the name of Icarus, which the legend wants to have fallen into the sea near this island. The beauty of Ikaria remains in being so inaccessible with a mountainous and wild terrain but features breathtaking views. The small bays are beautiful; one can relax in the hot springs and the typical architecture transports in an atmosphere of other times, amplified by the stillness that is breathed. Will all these characteristics make the population of Ikaria one of the longest in the world?

6. Skyros

In the Sporades archipelago, in the western Aegean Sea, Skyros is the largest and probably the quietest among these islands. There is no nightlife here, but during the day you can rent a bicycle or a moped and prowl the inner streets until you see a beach on the horizon. The northern part is green and undulating, while the southern part is arid and bare.

7. Gavdos

The most southerly island of Europe rightly enters our classification by its uncontaminated soul and faithful to the tradition. Here tourist structures are few, but you can also sleep on the beach under the stars, so much peace will infuse this place. The beaches of Gavdos always rank as the most beautiful beaches in Greece and probably the whole continent. Do not miss Cabo Tripiti, the southernmost point in Europe.

Gavdos

8. Milos

The statue of the Venus de Milo is one of the symbols of outstanding beauty par excellence, many years ago was discovered here in Milos. It’s not difficult to understand where the inspiration came from: little Milos is indeed a real paradise. Still, outside the circuits of mass tourism, this island in the south-west of the Cyclades is characterized by a lunar landscape, with rocks and white terrain.
